Algonquin Visitor Centre The Algonquin Visitor Centre, opened in
1993, sits high on a rocky ridge offering a spectacular
view of the surrounding countryside at km 43.
There's plenty of opportunity for hands-on interaction
with the world class exhibits and displays. Take a stroll
through the Natural History gallery with its realistic
three-dimensional scenes of area plants and animals.
It is not uncommon to see a moose browsing through the
wetlands while sipping on coffee or having an ice cream
cone in the Sunday Creek Cafe.
The Visitors Centre also houses a theatre featuring educational
and entertaining films throughout the day. The Friends
of Algonquin operate a gift shop and bookstore which sells
educational materials, souvenirs, and gift items.
Hours:
