Art Gallery of Bancroft

The Art Gallery of Bancroft is now located at 10 Flint Avenue – 2 doors down from TD Canada Trust in Bancroft and is fully operational. Summer hours are Tuesday to Sunday – noon to 5 p.m.

This unique public gallery is operated entirely by volunteers as a part of the community’s Algonquin Arts Council, and features diverse showings of fine arts and unique crafts by local and visiting artists and artisans. Attached to the Gallery is the extraordinary ‘Gallery Gift Shop’ with paintings, pottery, weaving, stained glass photography, woodwork, unique jewelry and gift cards – all by local artists and artisans. The Gallery also boasts an impressive Permanent Collection containing works of local importance from which selections are displayed on a rotating basis.

The Art Gallery of Bancroft’s mandate is to encourage, educate, promote and develop local artists/artisans by providing a public, not for profit gallery, which will exhibit visual art, unique crafts as fine art and photography for sale. As well as local art, work by artists from further a field will be featured to inspire and expose local artists/artisans. The Gallery mounts twelve monthly exhibitions which include works by individual artists, group showings, a juried exhibition, and a high school student exhibition.
