For over a decade, Bancroft has been

celebrated as Ontario’s Most Talented

Town, and it doesn’t take much to

discover why. Just take a stroll through

the ‘Theatre District.’ You’ll find ‘A Place

for the Arts’ abuzz with various artists

working alongside each other, sharing

inspiration and displaying their masterful

works. Just a couple blocks away the

Art Gallery of Bancroft has an enviable

permanent collection, as well as monthly

exhibits and events, and of course the gift

area with beautiful paintings, sculptures,

stained glass and expertly hand-crafted

jewelry. No visit to Bancroft would be

complete without a stop at the Historic

Village Playhouse, where you can catch

a live show, concert, or even a selection

from the Toronto International Film

Festival. Every Wednesday night

throughout the summer there’s

free live music at the bandshell in

Millennium Park, and of course

there are the murals throughout

town, the arts festival, and

much, much more. Bancroft itself

may be famous for its artists, but

creativity knows no bounds. Don’t

miss the private galleries and the

autumn studio tours in the rural areas all

around Bancroft, as well as in smaller

communities like Barry’s Bay, Coe Hill,

Whitney and especially Maynooth, which

is well known for its creative community.
